Update on Covid-19 swabbing in the Falkland Islands

As of today, Tuesday 26 January, the latest swabbing results are as follows:

• Total number of swab tests taken and processed to date: 6,685
• Total number of swabs taken but not yet tested: 0
• Total number of positive test results since 3 April 2020: 41
• Number of current positive test results within the Islands: 7

These current positive cases were identified as a result of swabbing during quarantine and all cases are either asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic. To date we have not had any cases requiring hospital admission and each person will be continue to be monitored by medical professionals while they complete their 14 days in isolation.

The next weekly swabbing update will be on Wednesday 3 February as it will be included in the larger monthly Covid-19 update and questions and answers session.
