Ministry of Health in collaboration with the World Health Organization Bhutan organized a field trip for the mainstream media houses last week. The objective of this field trip was to orient the journalists on COVID-19 managment, health system, and the measures put in place.

1. The journalists first visited the Paro International Airport and were explained about how the people who come by air are screened.

2. Then they visited the Paro Hospital to see COVID-19 managment at the district level and how district hospitals usually function.

3. They then returned to Thimphu and visited the Royal Centre for Disease Control (RCDC) located at Serbithang where COVID-19 tests are done. RCDC is the center that provides scientific information on health and diseases to ensure well-informed policies and public health interventions.

4. Lastly, they visited the Flu Clinic in Thimphu and were shown the location of isolation facility in Thimphu (Gyalyum Kesang Choeden Wangchuck National Eye Centre) where the COVID-19 positive patients are kept. See More
