SITUATION OF THE COVID-19 INFECTION

IN BRUNEI DARUSSALAM

1.    The Ministry of Health would like to inform the public on the current situation of the COVID-19 infection in Brunei Darussalam for Tuesday, 09 Zulhijjah 1442 / 20 July 2021, as of 12.00 noon.

2.   Cases 306 to 308 that are reported today arrived in Brunei Darussalam from Singapore via sea on 9 July 2021 and the contact tracing conducted has identified 15 close contacts for all these cases:

 

  1. Case 306 is a 43-year-old Indonesian man. He had a fever, cough and flu since 11 July 2021;

     

  2. Case 307 is a 47-year-old Filipino man. He experienced a headache since 15 July 2021;

     

  3. Case 308 is a 35-year-old Filipino man. He had a fever, cough, flu and diarrhea since 18 July 2021.

     

    Meanwhile,
     

  4. Case 309 is a 42-year-old Filipino woman who arrived in Brunei Darussalam from Manila on 7 July 2021. She does not have any signs of infection. The contact tracing conducted has found that there is no close contact for this case.

     

3.   All of the new cases were detected when they were undergoing quarantine and all their travel arrangements upon arrival and their quarantine follows the existing Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).

 

4.   All the cases treated at the National Isolation Centre are in a stable condition.
