ON THE CURRENT SITUATION OF COVID-19

IN BRUNEI DARUSSALAM

1.          Today, Saturday, 08 Rabiulakhir 1443 / 13 November 2021, by the will of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’Ala and with a heavy heart, the Ministry of Health would like to inform the public that one COVID-19 confirmed case has returned to the grace and mercy of Allah.

 

2.          The case was a 48-year-old woman, in which the cause of death is categorised as death due to COVID-19. Meanwhile, one death case that was reported on 11 November 2021 is confirmed as death due to COVID-19.

 

3.          In this opportunity, myself representing the Ministry of Health as well as the people of Brunei Darussalam, would like to express our deepest condolences to the case’s family and pray the case’s soul will receive blessings and is placed among the pious. Al-Fatihah..

4.          A total of fifty-one (51) new cases of COVID-19 infections have been confirmed today bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases to 14,172.

  1. There are 10 additional new cases to 6 of the existing active clusters who were previously close contacts with several positive cases.
  2. Meanwhile, two new clusters have been detected that involved 17 cases. One of the new clusters namely; JPCC Dormitory Cluster is a housing cluster that accommodates the company’s employees.
  3. As currently shown on the screen, five clusters have been closed following no new detected cases in the clusters for 28 days. Therefore, the current total active clusters are 166 clusters.

  4. Meanwhile, 24 new cases are still being investigated to determine the source of the infection.

 

5.          One hundred and twenty-five (125) cases have recovered today bringing the total number of recovered cases in Brunei Darussalam to 13,447 cases, whereas the total number active cases are 627 cases.

 

6.          Among the cases being treated at this time, four cases (04) are in Category 5 and currently treated at the Intensive Care Unit. All of them require assistance of artificial ventilation. Meanwhile, three (3) other cases are categorised in Category 4 that require oxygen assistance and are under close monitoring.

 

7.          In the past 24 hours, a total of 2,356 samples have been tested for the SARS-CoV-2 virus which brings the total number of laboratory tests conducted since January 2020 to 555,315 tests.

 

8.          On 12 November 2021, a total of 5,327 individuals have received the COVID-19 vaccine injection. This total includes 1,656 adolescents of aged 12-17 years. This means that, under the National Vaccination Programme, a total of 378,120 individuals have received the first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine which is 87.9% from the total population. Meanwhile, 295,458 individuals have completed the second doses of the COVID-19 vaccine which is 68.7% from the total population.

 

9.          The Ministry of Health would like to inform that the Mobile COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic services will be conducted as follows:

  1. Nakhoda Ragam Abdul Rashid Primary School Hall, Kampong Menunggol on Sunday, 14 November 2021 from 10:00 am until 2:30 pm, especially for residents of Kampong Menunggol and its surroundings. Residents of the kampong are welcome to get their second dose of the COVID-19 vaccination, and this Vaccination Clinic is also open via walk-in basis for residents of age 18 years and above who have not received the COVID-19 vaccination.

     

  2. Lamunin Health Centre, that will be conducted on Monday, 15 November 2021; Wednesday, 17 November 2021 and Thursday, 18 November 2021 from 9:00 am until 2:30 pm, especially for residents of Mukim Lamunin, Ukong, Rambai and its surroundings that have not received the COVID-19 vaccination, and for the kampong residents who have been scheduled to receive the second dose of the vaccine.

 

The local community who wish to get the COVID-19 vaccination can come directly by walk-in basis by bringing along their identification card/passport; BruHIMS card (or number) if available; as well as the COVID-19 Vaccination Card that is for those receiving the second dose injection. For those who require transportation assistance to the clinic, they can inform the Village Head by providing information such as full name, address, identification card number and telephone number. Whereas for those who are unable to attend on their own to the aforementioned health centres due to health problems or limited movement, they can register or be registered through the Village Head for vaccination arrangements at their respective homes.

 

10.      For Operasi Pulih that was carried out recently from 8 PM until 4 AM, a total of 12 violations of the directive nationwide were issued with compound fines, where 9 of them are violations of the out-of-house restriction.

 

11.      In this opportunity, let us together pray for the health and safety of all the frontliners who have tirelessly contributed their energy, time and strength in facing the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. May they always be blessed, given patience and perseverance, as well as given rewards by Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala for all the services that have contributed.
