Iran’s Health Ministry has confirmed 2,987 new cases of COVID-19 infection in 24 hours, increasing the total number of cases to 7,159,733.
Health Ministry said that the virus has killed 49 patients since Wednesday noon, raising the overall death toll to 140,158.
So far, 6,868,435 patients have recovered from the disease or been discharged from the hospital.
It said 1,551 patients are also in critical conditions caused by more severe infection.
It noted that 49,358,909 COVID-19 tests have been taken across the country so far.
63,890,778 Iranians have received the first dose of the COVID19 vaccine and 56,842,387 people have so far received the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Some 26,151,478 people have received the third dose of the COVID19 vaccine.
