Iran’s Health Ministry has confirmed 16,967 new cases of COVID-19 infection in 24 hours, increasing the total number of cases to 6,942,452.
Health Ministry said that the virus has killed 242 patients since Sunday noon, raising the overall death toll to 135,040.
So far, 6,489,920 patients have recovered from the disease or been discharged from the hospital.
It said 4,053 patients are also in critical conditions caused by more severe infection.
It noted that 46,620,277 COVID-19 tests have been taken across the country so far.
62,151,678 Iranians have received the first dose of the COVID19 vaccine and 55,100,679 people have so far received the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Some 22,214,679 people have received the third dose of the COVID19 vaccine.
