Iran’s Health Ministry has confirmed 2,500 new cases of COVID-19 infection in 24 hours, increasing the total number of cases to 6,165,454.

Health Ministry said that the virus has killed 63 patients since Thursday noon, raising the overall death toll to 130,946.

So far, 5,990,898 patients have recovered from the disease or been discharged from the hospital.

It said 2,957 patients are also in critical conditions caused by more severe infection.

It noted that 40,463,565 COVID-19 tests have been taken across the country so far.

58,976,573 Iranians have received the first dose of the COVID19 vaccine and 49,989,114 people have so far received the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Some 3,307,997 people have received the third dose of the COVID19 vaccine.
