Iran’s Health Ministry has confirmed 2,289 new cases of COVID-19 infection in 24 hours, increasing the total number of cases to 6,154,813.

Health Ministry said that the virus has killed 61 patients since Sunday noon, raising the overall death toll to 130,722.

So far, 5,969,591 patients have recovered from the disease or been discharged from the hospital.

It said 3,104 patients are also in critical conditions caused by more severe infection.

It noted that 40,054,772 COVID-19 tests have been taken across the country so far.

58,696,394 Iranians have received the first dose of the COVID19 vaccine and 49,377,847 people have so far received the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Some 2,504,552 people have received the third dose of the COVID19 vaccine.
