Dale Rose is among the thousands of federal, state, and local COVID-19 responders. In the past year, Dale has helped bring Americans home from outbreak areas overseas and worked in the United States to curb the spread in isolated hotspots, including long-term care facilities, meat processing plants, and prisons.

As the number of COVID-19 cases continues to rise in the larger community, Dale’s work continues.

“It certainly feels like a tsunami now,” Dale says. “But on the better days, when we see mitigation measures in an area lead to a drop in new infections, it means a lot. The measures work, and we don’t have to just let the tidal wave wash over us.”
