Seventeen new COVID-19 cases, seven males and 10 females, were reported from the 282 tests conducted on Thursday, September 22, by laboratories across the island.

The cases comprised three persons under the age of 18, and 14 who were 18 years and older. There were 33 people in isolation facilities, while 300 were in home isolation. As at September 22, there were 559 COVID-19 related deaths.

The laboratories conducted 763,590 tests since February 2020, and recorded 102,383 COVID-19 cases (46,310 males and 56,073 females).

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of persons with at least one dose is 163,612 (71.6 per cent of the eligible population).  

The total number of fully vaccinated persons is 154,633 (57 per cent of the total population or 67.7 per cent of the eligible population).  The eligible population represents those persons who are 12 years and older.
