The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory identified 324 new COVID-19 cases 148 males and 176 females, from the 1,080 tests conducted on Sunday, May 15.  

The cases comprised 105 persons under the age of 18, and 219 who were 18 years and older. There were 101 people in isolation facilities, while 4,868 were in home isolation.

An 82-year-old American male passed away as a result of COVID-19 on Sunday. As at May 15, there were 434 COVID-19 related deaths.

The public health laboratory has conducted 671,718 tests since February 2020, and recorded 76,895 COVID-19 cases (35,191 males and 41,704 females).

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of persons with at least one dose is 162,058 (71 per cent of the eligible population).  

The total number of fully vaccinated persons is 152,379 (56.2 per cent of the total population or 66.7 per cent of the eligible population). The eligible population represents those persons who are 12 years and older.
