Barbados has recorded 124 new COVID-19 cases, comprising 51 males and 73 females.

The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory conducted 1710 tests on Tuesday, September 14.

Of these new cases, 21 are under the age of 18, and the remaining 103 are 18 years and over.

There are 752 persons in isolation.

Meanwhile, a 60-year-old Barbadian man is the 53rd person to die from the virus. He passed away on Tuesday while at the Accident and Emergency Department of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. He was unvaccinated.

Since March 2020, the island has recorded 6,177 confirmed cases (3,086 females and 3,091 males).

The public health laboratory has performed 288,100 tests.

To date, 122,509 first doses have been administered under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19. A total of 96,629 people (35.7 per cent of the population) have received their second dose and are fully vaccinated. (BGIS)
