Coronavirus cases in Bangladesh continued to soar as record 786 more infections were reported in the last 24 hours till Tuesday, taking the total cases in the country to 10,929.
This is the highest daily surge since the first cases were detected in the country on March 8. Earlier, highest 688 cases were reported in a 24-hour period on Monday.
Besides, the death toll from coronavirus in the country has risen to 183 with one more death during the period.

Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, additional director general of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), came up with the disclosure in the daily online health bulletin at the Management Information System (MIS) in the afternoon.
She also said 193 more people recovered from Covid-19 in the country during the period, taking the total of people making recovery to 1,403.
Prof Nasima said 5,711 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. With this, a total of 93,405 samples have so far been tested in the country, she said.
On Monday, Bangladesh reported five more deaths from coronavirus and 688 new cases.
Meanwhile, the global death toll from the coronavirus has crossed 2.5 lakh to 252,393 as of Tuesday morning.
Besides, it has so far infected 3,645,320 people globally, according to Worldometer.
Of the currently infected 2,197,985 patients, 2,148,350 are in mild condition, which is 98 percent while 49,635 or 2 percent are in serious condition.
So far, 1,194,942 people have recovered from COVID-19.
The World Health Organization (WHO) declared the coronavirus crisis a pandemic on March 11.
The coronavirus is affecting 212 countries and territories around the world and two international conveyances.
