Bangladesh reported 1,592 fresh cases of coronavirus over the last 24 hours till Sunday to bring the total to 325,157. 

Besides, casualties associated with the highly contagious virus have reached 4,479 after 32 more Covid-19 patients died during the period. 

Of the new deceased, 25 are men and seven are women. Among the total dead, 3,504 or 78.23 percent are men while 975 or 21.77 percent are women.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the information through a press release in the afternoon.

Total recoveries in the country have reached 221,275 after 3,423 more patients beat the virus in the last 24 hours. 

During the period, 11,354 samples were tested in 93 labs across the country. With this, a total of 1,629,312 samples have so far been tested in the country.

In comparison with the tests conducted in the last 24 hours, the infection rate is 14.02 percent while the infection rate is 19.96 against total tests carried out so far.

Against the total number of detected cases, the recovery rate is 68.05 percent while the mortality rate is 1.38 percent.

On Saturday, Bangladesh registered 35 deaths from coronavirus and 1,950 cases after testing 12,847 samples.

Meanwhile, the death toll from coronavirus has reached 883,742 globally as of Sunday morning.

Besides, the virus has so far sickened 27,065,789 people across the world, according to Worldometer.

Of the currently infected 7,016,085 patients, 6,955,365 are in mild condition while 60,720 are in serious or critical condition.

So far, 19,165,962 people have made recovery from the disease in different countries.

The US is the worst-hit country with highest cases and deaths in the world at 6,431,152 and 192,818 respectively while Brazil is in the 2nd position with 4,123,000 cases and 126,230 deaths and India is in the 3rd position with 4,113,811 cases and 70,679 deaths.
