Bangladesh on Monday reported 399 new infections over the past 24 hours till Monday to take total caseload to 544,116.
Besides, 18 more deaths were reported from the virus, which is responsible for Covid-19, during the period to take the death toll in the country to 8,374.
Of the new deceased, 10 are men and eight are women. Among the total dead, 6,335 are men while 2,039 are women.
Currently, there are 42,855 active cases in the country.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the information through a press release in the afternoon.
As per the press release, 828 more people recuperated from Covid-19 in the past 24 hours to take total recoveries in the country to 492,887.
The recovery rate also stands at 90.58 per cent.
During the period, 12,748 samples were tested in 214 labs across the country. With this, a total of 3,971,524 samples have so far been tested in the country.
The positivity rate — an indicator of the prevalence of the disease — was recorded at 3.13 per cent in the last 24 hours while the overall positivity rate is 13.70 per cent
Bangladesh has one of the lowest case fatality rates or CFR, which measures deaths among Covid-19 patients, at 1.54 per cent.
On Sunday, the country recorded seven deaths and 327 infections from coronavirus after testing 14,036 samples with a positivity rate of 2.33 per cent.
Meanwhile, coronavirus cases have reached 111,953,736 across the world as of Monday morning.
Besides, the virus has so far claimed the lives of 2,477,815 people globally, according to data collated by tracking website Worldometer.
Of the currently infected 22,157,235 patients, 22,067,640 are in mild condition while 93,920 are in serious or critical condition.
So far, 87,314,361 Covid-19 patients have made recovery worldwide.
The US is the worst-hit country with highest cases and deaths in the world at 28,765,423 and 511,133 respectively while India has 2nd highest cases of 11,005,071 and third highest fatalities of 156,418 and Brazil has 2nd highest deaths of 246,560 and third highest cases of 10,168,174.
