A new CDC report details a COVID-19 outbreak at a Utah correctional facility following a dental clinic day and other potential community-associated introductions. A dental healthcare provider tested positive for COVID-19 shortly after treating 10 incarcerated people. Half of the patients’ cell block eventually became infected. Quarantine & isolation of people exposed to COVID-19 is key to stopping outbreaks. Incarcerated people & facility staff should also get vaccinated as soon as vaccine is available to them.
