A new CDC report adds to the evidence that K-12 schools using multiple prevention strategies – like requiring masks, maintaining physical distance, and increasing outdoor air ventilation – can limit the spread of COVID-19, even in communities with high transmission. An analysis of COVID-19 in 57 Missouri schools with prevention measures in place found limited spread of infection in school. Among 102 school-based contacts tested after being exposed to students and faculty with COVID-19, two got positive results likely due to in-person school spread. These findings highlight the importance of prevention measures to maintain in-person learning. Learn more: bit.ly/MMWR31921c.
