Record 28 more people died from coronavirus in Bangladesh in the past 24 hours till Sunday, taking the death toll in the country to 480.
Besides, 1,532 cases were reported during the period, taking the total tally to 33,610.
This is the highest surge in deaths from coronavirus in the country. Previous highest 24 deaths were reported on May 22.

Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, additional director general of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), came up with the disclosure in the daily online health bulletin in the afternoon.
She said 415 more patients recovered from Covid-19 disease in the last 24 hours, taking the number of people making recovery to 6,901.
Prof Nasima said 8,908 were tested in 47 labs across the country in the last 24 hours. With this, a total of 243,583 samples have so far been tested in the country.
On Saturday, Bangladesh reported record 16 deaths from coronavirus and highest 1,873 cases.
Meanwhile, coronavirus cases around the world have crossed 54 lakh to stand at 5,404,648 as of Sunday morning.
Besides, the global death toll from the virus has reached 343,982, according to Worldometer.
Of the currently infected 2,813,416 patients, 2,759,854 are in mild condition while 53,562 are in serious or critical condition.
So far, 2,247,250 people have made recovery from the disease in different countries.
Coronavirus is affecting over 213 countries and territories around the world and two international conveyances.
The World Health Organization (WHO) declared the coronavirus crisis a pandemic on March 11.
