The number of daily deaths caused by the coronavirus pandemic in Iran continues to fall a day after the number of deaths came under 200.
With the 173 deaths over the past 24 hours, the country’s total deaths hit 122,370.
7,654 new cases of infection with the COVID-19 were found over the past 24 hours, 1,286 of whom were hospitalized, it said.
The Iranian Health Ministry noted that 5,201,515 patients out of a total of 5,691,634 infected people have recovered or been discharged from hospitals.
Some 5,368 COVID-19 patients are in critical condition in intensive care units, it added.
The Health Ministry also announced that 44,378,234 Iranians have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine and 18,600,554 people have so far received the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
