A new report in CDC’s MMWR is among the first to evaluate the benefits of mRNA COVID-19 vaccines (Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna) against hospitalization in real-world conditions. People 65+ who were fully vaccinated were 94% less likely to be hospitalized with COVID-19 than people in the same age group who had not been vaccinated. People who were partially vaccinated (14 days after the first dose of a two-dose vaccine) were 64% less likely to be hospitalized. CDC recommends getting a COVID-19 vaccine as soon as you can to prevent serious illness from COVID-19. Learn more: bit.ly/MMWR42821.
